Best…Blog…Ever…?

Wow, so much has happened since the last time I actually acted like I had a blog and typed. Summer came and went, Fall chilled out for a second and Winter is making itself at home.

Obama…

Don’t have the words so I’ll just let the name speak for itself. Thank you, America for growing up.

I think what messed me up last time is that I promised to make a lot more post instead of just letting it come naturally. So this time, no promises, no pressure, just periodic post.

Anyway, I also want to give a big thank you for all of the people around the world that have email, contacted me about their love of the music I did for StarShine 2 (www.herointeractive.com/starshine2) I’ve done several games with Hero Interactive to date, but I have to say that the responce I’ve recieved from the music on this game has been immence. You guys are great and thank you for stalking me down on the internet and emailing me (I say stalking in the most respectable since because my email wasn’t correctly displayed in the “credits” section of the game, so people had to go above and beyond to actually get in touch with me), shout out to German, Paris, Argentina, Brazil, USA, U.K. and every other country were people hit me up about the music.

That’s about it for now, don’t want to over do it for this post. But look out, I’m applying for my passport this week and if you’re on that list of countries/cities I just wrote…

Headshot

So I got called to audition for an ab machine infomercial tomorrow. Just to back track and catch you up to speed; yes, I’m out in NY to pursue music production/songwriting but oddly enough, every single job that I’ve had out here thus far has either been in film or television. Hey, a check is a check…(plus movie checks almost always trump music checks :-)

Anyway, as a result of several opportunities that have come my way, I’ve signed up for online casting websites and I got called back to come out for an ab infomercial. I’ve spent most of the day scrambling to get my resume/head shot together and got some great advice from my friends Shawn and Jenni.

I have the resume/headshot problem figure out but still have to get a shape up, but when I went out the barber was just closing up and told me that he would be opening up at 8 in the mourning so I’m gonna make it a early night and see him then.

But after I talked to the barber, the strangest thing happened, I put in an order of a half chicken fried and won ton soup at the Chinese spot next door and when I was waiting for my order outside, this yellow parakeet bird flies right up to me out of nowhere and lands on the ground in front of me. It stopped and stared at me for a few seconds, then when I was about to try and pick it up it flew off around the corner.

I know that there are birds all around, but I’ve never had a small yellow one fly out of nowhere and look at me before so it was kind of odd.

Anyway, say a prayer that I get the ab role, I’m about to begin making tracks for Lupe’s new album and some other various hiphop/R&B joints on the music side so Lord willin’ I’ll be getting a lot of checks this summer.

Thanks for reading, God bless.

So yeah…sorry about that

June 2nd, 2008

Okay, that may have been the worst introduction and follow up to a blog in the history of blogs. I must admit, I’ve been extreamly busy lately, but there’s no excuse. I definetly plan on stepping my game up. Thanks for bearing with me.

Anyway, I’ve been busy working on music (of course) doing background acting, working as a PA on the movie Julie and Julia, working at my job where I watch TV and get paid for it (weird but true) and generally doing everything humanly possible to keep afloat and strive on to bigger and better things.

I’ll start doing entries at the minimum weekly and add interesting pics or video so more than one person will actually even look at this.

 Thanks for reading.

Calkutta at work

Hey, what’s up everyone. This is Calvin aka Calkutta making my first official post in my blog. I plan to have this serve as a digital scrapbook of all the crazy or interesting things that occur in my life. A lot of people always wonder what I’m doing because I’m always traveling or doing stuff, so hopefully I’ll be able to use this as a living and breathing window into what’s going on in my life. Whether your family, friend or a fan, I hope you enjoy and feel free to comment. Thanks
